Lesson 18 – The Five Levels of Human Consciousness

Hey friends—welcome back!

This lesson is titled The Five Levels of Human Consciousness. Although there are infinite levels of Consciousness in between The One, All-There-Is, and your very personalized thought-level of consciousness, these five levels of consciousness are immediately relevant to your everyday experience; to your everyday investigation processes; to your everyday self-awareness processes; to your everyday creating-your-reality processes.

I wish to address these five levels to give you a clearer overview of how the human psyche basically works, how it is ordered, how it is structured.

You will find inside this lesson, underneath the video (above), a schematic drawing of these five levels of Consciousness.

Level 1: I-AM Consciousness

The base level of Consciousness is that of I-AM Consciousness. This is your Presence Consciousness. It is what we rested into in Enlightenment I and also the Introduction course.

This is your base state of I-AM; your natural state of Consciousness. It is the basis from which everything else that is you—everything that belongs to you, as an individuation of the All-That-Is Consciousness—arises.

This level is very crucial, but it is not that practical, in terms of creating or observing things, because it is simply the natural state of your Presence Consciousness. What is more interesting is the next level up, which is the level of frequency, the level of vibration, the level of points of view.

The I-AM Consciousness, your core individuation, is the point where you become an individuation of the All-That-Is overall Consciousness, which includes everything. You are the individuation at the I-AM level. The I-AM Consciousness level, or you as an individual being, now has the ability (as all Consciousness has) to vibrate at a certain speed, at a certain rate, in certain harmonic frequencies.

Level 2: Points of View

In a sense, it is inaccurate to say this next level is the level of vibration, because everything is vibration, but it is the level of points of view. We could equate this to your vibrational state of being, or your vibrational understanding of the universe, or your vibrational perspective at any given moment. So, in that sense, it is the level of frequency and vibration as well, because whatever point of view you take on determines your vibrational attitude.

So, points of view are immediately related to your vibrational state of being. The level of the points of view is basically the point of view through which your particular I-AM Consciousness looks when it views life.

At this level, the I-AM Consciousness chooses its perspective. It starts to choose its reality; it starts to choose how it wishes to perceive things. This is a very malleable level.

You will notice that there are different parallel perspectives drawn on this schematic. The base perspective, the center one in bold (highlighted) represents the particular point of view your Consciousness has chosen to view life through in this moment.

I purposefully included parallel points of view so you can always be aware of the fact that, even though you have chosen one point of view, there are an infinite number of equally valid points of view. These may not be as highlighted for you in this moment, but nevertheless, they are co-existent with your present point of view.

Each point of view has a different vibratory state of being, depending on how in alignment the perspective is, or how far out of alignment with the fundamental principles of the universe the perspective is. This will determine how good it feels or how bad it feels, as we have learned in previous lessons about the emotional guidance system.

When Consciousness chooses a particular point of view, that point of view starts to crystallize itself into what we could call a “belief.” And that brings us to the next level of Consciousness within this schematic.

Level 3: The Unconscious / Beliefs

Beliefs are the same as points of view, but in a slightly more crystallized and manifest state of being. Just as ice is more manifest than water, and water is more manifest than steam, we can say that points of view are steam-like and beliefs are water-like. They are slightly more crystallized, condensed, and contracted.

Beliefs are really what generate your physical experience. They generate your environment and the circumstances you attract to yourself.

It is important to understand that beliefs are the result of points of view. You can change your point of view, even when you have a related belief. This is where the idea of “fake it ’til you make it” comes in—which sounds terrible, I agree, but it is kind of a fun statement to make, and we can redefine what it actually means.

Fake It ’til You Make It

What does it mean to “fake it ’til you make it?” We have all done this throughout our entire lives. We have “faked” certain points of view, which is another way of saying we have settled on certain points of view that are equally valid to the next point of view, and to the next point of view, and to a point of view that is millions of light years away from our understanding.

All points of view of the universe—through the One’s eyes, through the Absolute’s eyes—are seen as equally valid, and therefore they are. But we, as humans, settle on certain types of points of views, or perspectives, and these come with certain vibratory frequencies. When we settle on a point of view, we are, in a sense, faking it until we make it.

The point of view turns into a belief system very quickly, as soon as we decide that this particular point of view is the truth: “This is reality. This is how things work. This is real.” That point of view then says: “OK! Let me manifest myself in terms of a belief or a belief system.”

A belief still is non-physical, meaning you can’t pick it up and eat it or throw it around. It is not a physical object (obviously). Nevertheless, it is slightly more physical, or quasi-physical, than the truly non-physical state of vibration and point of view, where Consciousness has full freedom to move about through its points of views to see life from all kinds of different perspectives.

You have access to this right now. Even if you have belief systems that are crystallized, you may have the sense that some of these no longer serve you. Some of these beliefs have already been outgrown by your evolution, and yet they may still linger around for a little while. This is because they are slightly more crystallized versions of your points of view, of your previously settled-upon points of view, of your previously chosen points of view.

Any time you stated to a point of view: “OK, this is the truth; this is how it works…” Boom! It was turned into a belief, which then started generating and attracting certain types of circumstances and experiences into your physical reality. Since beliefs generate reality, it is very important that we become masters of choosing our preferred point of view.

As I said, we may have a new point of view that feels better to us, but we may also still have a lingering belief system based on previous points of view that seemed true to us five years ago, or even a day ago. In this case, we have a paradox; we have the contrast of having certain beliefs but knowing they are not absolutely true. In other words, we still sort of believe in them.

At the same time, we have access to a newer point of view, a higher state of Consciousness, a higher state of vibration, a higher state of understanding—a more expanded way to see life. In other words, we have a different point of view that resonates more with our I-AM Soul Consciousness. In this situation, you feel crystallized on a certain vibratory level that does not compute with who you really are or with who you want to be.

This is where “fake it ’til you make it” comes in: You place your attention on the new point of view, the new imagination, the new thought form, the new way of seeing life, the new understanding of how this universe works. You focus on how worthy you are, on who you are and why you are here, on what you are capable of, and so on. You place your attention on any point of view about anything regarding Life, the Universe, Existence, God, spirituality, Enlightenment, or you as a person—on any type of point of view related to any of these crucial topics that directly address your experience of life.

When you choose a new point of view that is fairly new to your belief system, there is a difference between the two, and this is where fake it ’til you make it comes in. It is my suggestion to do this, because it can work. Keep repeating the new point of view, as you used to do with your previous point of view (which eventually turned into a belief system).

At this point, you still have the old belief system, so as you continue to repeat the new point of view, it still feels slightly “fake.” But as you keep repeating the new point of view, it begins to naturally shift your vibratory state in such a way that, what previously seemed fake, now starts to seem real because you are downloading feelings from it.

As soon as you feel the new point of view you are seeing, your belief system begins to readjust itself. As you feel the new point view, as you download the feelings from that new imagination, that new reality, that new state of being, that new perspective or point of view—as you begin feeling what you are seeing (the way you are seeing life)—it starts to seem real to you.

It shifts from feeling like it is a fake point of view (like you don’t really believe in it) to: “Oh! Hey, wait a second—this might be true! This might actually be a relevant, valid point of view; reality may be able to work in this way.” And that is when you start to feel it. And when you start to feel it, you start to believe it.

Revisiting See It, Feel It, Be It

The process is similar to what we learned in the previous lesson, where we practiced seeing it, then feeling it, and then being it. This is the natural process of moving away, or shifting, from a present paradigm into a new paradigm; into a new understanding of who you are, into a new manifestation of who you are.

First you see it. You see the new vision, the new imagination. You are tuning into a parallel reality that may seem quite distant from yours. But as you tune into it more frequently, the fakeness factor begins to disappear.

For a while, the new perspective may seem fake to your belief system. You may think, “Oh, life works in a particular way; this can never be true. This is not how it works; this is just a fairytale.” But keep imagining that fairytale reality; keep imagining that new, alternate paradigm that resonates much more with you, that excites you, or that at least has the potential to excite and accelerate you.

As I said, it may feel fake at first. But as you imagine it more and more and more and more, you start to download glimpses of it. You are actually already shifting closer and closer into vibrational alignment with the new perspective, the new point of view, the new state of being.

Finally, you start to feel it. And once you begin to feel it, the feelings start to convince your belief system that this point of view is not fake—it is actually equally valid. This is when you start to be it, to become it, to believe it, to be convinced of it, to act according to it. This is how you change yourself completely; this is how you become a truly, completely changed being.

It is a very powerful skill to know how to access your points of view. You can do this using imagination because, in every moment, you are having a point of view, you are activating a point of view of life, an understanding, a filter, a way of seeing Creation.

Be aware of what you are saying to yourself right now; be aware of how you are seeing life right now. Are you seeing life through a lens that feels depressive to you? If so, this means your lens, or your perspective, or your state of being, is not in accordance with the truth of the Universe, the truth of Source, the truth of Existence, the truth of your Higher Self.

Do you feel amazing about this moment? If so, this means your perspective of this moment is in vibrational alignment with the greater understanding of the Universe, of Existence, of Source, of Creation, of God, of Life, of you as an individual, of your Higher Self.

When you are in alignment, you feel really good. These good feelings convince your belief system that you really do have the capacity to change and transform and manifest whatever your heart truly desires, with integrity.

This starts to manifest as a new belief system, and these new beliefs will attract the reality you desire; they will manifest that reality. They will shift you into an alternate parallel reality universe where that experience and reality always existed and was already yours to begin with.

Level 4: The Subconscious / Feelings

Let’s continue with the schematic of the Five Levels of Consciousness. Beliefs generate emotions. You cannot have an emotion about something that you don’t already have a belief about.

People think things and events have inherent meaning. In the Enlightenment I course we explored the fact that there is no inherent meaning in events and things. But many people believe there is. They feel their misery comes from an actual circumstance; for example, they feel they lack finances, or that someone else made them sad, or that someone said something that upset them. We project onto our circumstances that there is real meaning in these events.

But this is energetically impossible! We can only ever give to ourselves a feeling, a belief, a thought, a perspective, an experience, or an emotion. If something in the environment brushes up against your belief system, that belief will then trigger an emotion. Why? To let you know whether or not your perspective, your belief, is in alignment with who you truly are.

So you see, emotions are benign. They are guidance points. They are your compass, your guidance system. We have to really appreciate the nature of emotions from this particular angle. Do not overanalyze the emotion itself, because the type of emotion your guidance expresses itself through is not very relevant.

Sure, you can gain certain types of insights by investigating the emotion, but it is not particularly relevant. What is relevant is to simplify the process and ask yourself, “Does this emotion feel good or bad?” That is all you need to ask yourself.

Welcome Both Positive and Negative Emotions

If the emotion feels good, welcome it (obviously), because it is guiding you into greater clarity. Welcoming the emotion is especially important if the emotion feels negative. Don’t condemn the negative emotion—welcome it! Appreciate it! Celebrate it! Be excited to see it. Say, “Oh wow! Welcome into my experience. I am so grateful that you show yourself because you want me to become more of who I truly am and less of who I truly am not. So thank you, negative emotion. Witnessing you here is a positive event; I am really glad you visited me. I am really glad my emotional guidance system is operational, is functioning. I am happy my Higher Self is communicating to me in the form of emotions.”

So, appreciate negative emotions! Don’t take them as a sign of non-progress or digressing or not doing good enough or not getting this or not being able to manifest who you wish to be and the circumstances you wish to experience.

Negative emotions are a sign of progress. They are a sign that your state of being is expanding past your previous paradigm. Everything you are holding onto in the previous paradigm will bubble up to the surface, because you are about to expand past that vibrational ceiling, past that vibrational threshold.

When you witness a negative emotion coming up, it is a positive event. Completely appreciate it and be really confident about approaching that negative emotion with a positive state or interpretation. When you do this, you continue to accelerate without effort.

When a negative emotion comes up, it is letting you know you have a belief about the circumstance you just ran into. The circumstance seems to trigger the emotion, but it is actually the circumstance playing with your perspectives, or beliefs (which are crystallized perspectives).

Your Higher Self, or your energy, will let you know whether that belief is in or out of alignment with your true, ever-present, always-on core frequency of being—with your true identity as an individuated expression of the All-That-Is Consciousness, of which you are an inseparable, co-creating aspect.

So, you feel bad. This is a good thing! It is letting you know your perspective of the environment, or of the circumstance, or of the person you are looking at, is out of alignment with who you are. It is not about what happened, per se. What happened is that a neutral event triggered a belief, which is a bias (and is not neutral.) A belief is a perspective that has crystallized in a certain version of itself. And that belief is shown to you through the emotional body, or the emotional guidance system.

I often use the “doorknob analogy” to explain this. Most people don’t have strong emotions about doorknobs. I can touch a doorknob and you won’t feel a thing because you don’t have any beliefs that are personalized about that doorknob; you don’t have a strong bias about the doorknob.

If you were to have a strong bias about the doorknob—for example, if your mom always told you that you and that particular doorknob are really tied together, that your fates are connected—then if someone scratched or touched or hammered on that doorknob, your belief system would show itself in your emotional being, because of the belief you have about the doorknob.

But since most of us were not taught to have beliefs about doorknobs, or at least not personalized beliefs (no biases), we don’t feel anything when we are talking about a doorknob or when I am touching or scratching a doorknob.

You see, there is no inherent meaning in circumstance. The only thing that ever triggers an emotion is a belief, which is a crystallized point of view, and which you can change by moving into another point of view. This is why it is so helpful to bump into circumstances that trigger beliefs, which then trigger emotions.

Level 5: The Conscious Mind / Thought

Now let’s look at the fifth level of Consciousness—the conscious, thinking mind. Emotions correlate to what we usually call the subconscious in our society. Beliefs correlate to what we call the unconscious. And thought, or the thinking mind, is what we refer to as the conscious mind.

What is the purpose of thoughts? Thoughts are meant to be utilized simply to reflect upon what is or what has happened. It is a reflective mechanism, a reflective tool. And all it can really reflect on is circumstances or emotions.

It is possible to take thought to the next level and utilize it for a higher mental type of thinking that is more abstract, that is more spiritually-oriented, in a sense. This is using thought in a contemplative way. But in general, thoughts are simply reactions to circumstances, to the environment, or to the emotions that are triggered by the environment.

Many people think thoughts trigger their emotions because, when you think about a certain thing or event, it comes with a certain emotion (which is true). But, because you are thinking about a certain thing, that certain thing is actually a circumstance. The circumstance you are imagining, or thinking about, or referencing, has a relationship to your belief system. Depending on whether your belief system is aligned with abundance or aligned with lack, you will either feel really great about what you are thinking about, or really bad about what you are thinking about.

Thoughts can only react to circumstances or emotions, generally speaking. Emotions are triggered by beliefs, by the unconscious. The purpose of emotions is to show you that you have an unconscious; that there are beliefs in the unconscious that may not be known to you.

You can transform these beliefs by shifting into another perspective of life, by taking on another belief system, by taking on another state of being, by changing your frequency, by feeling different in your state of being.

When you reiterate the new perspective multiple times for a period of time, that new imagination, that new way of seeing life, will start to feel real. And when it starts to feel real, you start to believe it is real. When you believe it is real, it is there as the new belief system, the new paradigm. This then generates a new set of emotions and thoughts and circumstances.

The Power to Change Your Reality

Be aware of these five levels of Consciousness and know that your power lies in the level of the I-AM having a certain point of view of life. This is where the majority of your power lies. Use thoughts and emotions and beliefs to work with this, to reflect upon this. Allow yourself to become more aware of what your true spirit’s preference is and is not; allow yourself to become more aware of who you really are and who you really are not.

You can then choose your new perspective. The power to change your reality lies on the level of perspectives. This is the level of non-physical belief systems, non-physical perspectives. It is your state of being, your vibration, your frequency, your vibrational attitude. I could also say this includes your overall mood, your overall way of seeing life, your overall attitude.

Study the schematic above and get a clear sense of how this is operational in you. See that circumstances bump up against your belief system, which then lets you know through the feeling state, through the emotional state, whether that belief should be looked at, or whether it should be allowed to be continued to be executed and believed in, because it feels really amazing and it serves you at this particular time. This doesn’t mean it will always serve you, because you change a lot and so will the belief systems that serve you, depending on the current stage of your own evolution.

Homework

The first part of the homework for this lesson is to listen to or read this lesson at least once more.

Second, study the schematic. I would love for you to become aware of this process in action during everyday life, at least for the next two days, until you start your next lesson, but for longer if you feel like it.

When an emotion comes up, remember the schematic. Pull it up in your imagination and recognize, “Oh, the environment triggered or bumped up against my belief system. I now feel bad. But that is a good thing, because I want to see what it is that feels bad when it comes up. I am not going to go look for things that make me feel bad, but when they come up organically, I want to look at them because they have some significance for me. Otherwise they wouldn’t come up.”

Your Higher Self is letting you know, “Hey, there is a belief that is out of alignment here.” You recognize that what feels bad is not in the circumstances, so you become a more conscious person with a greater sense of integrity. You don’t project how you feel onto other people and your environment as much anymore.

In a positive way, start to internalize and integrate this and see that there is no inherent meaning, either positive or negative, in circumstances or events or molecules (which is all that this consists of, seemingly). Your belief systems, which are colored in a certain way, give rise to emotions, either positive or negative, depending on whether your beliefs are in or out of alignment.

Witness this process in your everyday life and then go to the perspective level—choose to have a different view of the same moment. See it, then feel it, then be it.

When you concentrate on the new visualization, the new view of life, the new understanding of the same exact experience—when you cultivate that and bring it into your imagination—you begin to feel it.

After that, you start to be it. At this point, notice how your belief system starts to tweak itself. It starts to change. You have these “Oh! Aha!” moments where you feel your belief system disappearing and another perspective becoming crystallized.

Suddenly, you feel really good about the same scenario because you have eliminated the lack belief. Or you have transformed the lack belief into some kind of an abundance view of the same circumstance.

What you previously labeled as, “Oh, this person is telling me that my clothes are ugly—that means I lack worthiness; that means I lack love and acceptance; that means I lack the money to buy new clothes,” starts to change. You see that it is the lack belief that made you feel bad; the person saying something (the circumstance) did not make you feel bad.

Notice this in your everyday life experiences. The circumstance does not transmit a state of being to you; this is impossible. Only you can transmit a state of being into your state of being. You are in full control of how you feel and how you see life.

So, you start to feel your belief system being tweaked. Your lack beliefs, such as, “I don’t have money to buy new clothes; I am not worthy of being loved,” are replaced with, “I don’t really care, because that person is just expressing his own point of view, which is equally valid to any other point of view. I appreciate that he has his own view of life. It is relevant for him. My point of view is relevant for me. I feel really comfortable in these particular clothes! They suit me. They are an extension of who I feel I am on the non-physical level, so I feel great in them. I feel like this makes my “physical suit” more transparent to my true higher personality, my true higher nature.

“There is infinite abundance! If I want new clothes, I can attract new clothes. I have no problem believing that because I know this is a Creation of infinite parallel realities and it is all a matter of shifting my frequency into a paradigm where this already exists. So, if I want to buy new clothes, I will attract the money to buy the new clothes, and it will feel relevant and it will feel great.

“But right now, I feel great walking around in these clothes! I feel like I am an expression of the Universe. I feel abundant. I feel connected. I feel inseparable from All-That-Is. I feel desired to be as I am by All-That-Is, regardless of another person’s point of view. And so, I feel great! I feel connected to who I truly am. I feel abundant. I feel confident. I am happy. I love this person because he is a reflection of my own spirit; he is showing me more of who I am. He is guiding me into greater clarity.”

Having gone through this new view of the same circumstance, you start to feel it. And then you start to be it, and it locks itself into the belief system. Now, the next time a person says, “Hey, I don’t like your clothes,” what will most likely happen (if this is anchored-in properly and the lack beliefs are truly transformed) is that your first, immediate emotional reaction will be, “Thank you, that’s amazing!”

Why? Because you have already changed your point of view, and with that, your belief system. Therefore, you will have a different emotion; an emotion that lets you know your perspective is in greater alignment with the truth of Reality, which is abundance, freedom of choice, worthiness, and being loved—being infinitely loved.

These are all fundamental truths, and when you align with them, you automatically feel good. So, your natural reaction to circumstances starts to become more holistic and positive overall, effortlessly so, because you have worked on the level of your perspectives. And then you became that new reality version of yourself.

So, I want you to simply notice this process in everyday life. See how it operates for you in your own mind, in your own being, and start to play with it. Start to gain freedom with this so that you no longer project your misery out onto circumstances and other people, but instead, you really own your own reality. You really own your own feelings. You really own your own projections. You really own that you have perspectives that are in alignment, and you have perspectives that are out of alignment.

Your only job is to sift through these perspectives, using the emotional guidance system, and start adopting points of view that are actually in alignment with the abundant infinite principles of this Universe.

Thank you for completing this lesson. Listen to it or read it once more before your next lesson and apply this to everyday life circumstances. Study the schematic. See how it works in everyday life experiences—this is very important. And I will see you in the next lesson. Enjoy!
